Foster Homes Needed in the Oak Ridge area!!!!
We are always in need of foster homes for dogs and cats. All animals must live indoors; fenced
yards are preferred for dogs, but not always required for the smaller dogs.
Please call (865)483-8146 if you live in or near Oak Ridge and would be willing to foster.
Adoptable pets on view at Belk's
on Senior Days in the Oak Ridge Mall; upcoming dates are
Tuesdays, September 7 and October 5. NOTE: We will NOT be at Belk's on August 3 because of another event that day
(see below). Look for us inside the store, near the rear entrance
off of Tulane Avenue, next to Sears.
Pet Showing at Petsmart
SARG shows animals at the Petsmart store at Turkey Creek the second Friday of each month,
4 - 8 p.m. Upcoming dates are Fridays, August 13 and September 10.
Please let us know if you can volunteer to help with the PetSmart showings.
National Night Out - Tuesday, August 3,
4 - 8 p.m. at
Alvin K. Bissell Park on Oak Ridge Turnpike at the Civic Center. SARG will be there with a few adoptable
animals, and we need volunteers to help set up the tent and crates, tend the animals, and greet the public.

Dog Washes are being held monthly. The next dog wash
will be Saturday, August 21, at the Oak Ridge
Animal Shelter parking lot, at the corner of Warehouse and Belgrade Roads in Oak Ridge. Because the shelter
is now open on Saturday mornings from 11 a.m., we have changed the hours for the dog washes; they will be from
8 a.m. to 11 a.m. this season. We are in urgent need of able-bodied volunteers to help
wash and dry dogs. Price information is available here (PDF, 34k).
SARG Yard Sale
Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25. We would appreciate your donations
for our big yard sale at this time, as we will be working on pricing and organizing
the sale items over the next couple of months. If you would like to help, please
