Spay/Neuter Information

Free spay/neuter assistance from SARG and Claws and Paws 4 a Cause

Claws and Paws 4 a Cause is a low-cost, high-quality spay, neuter and vaccination mobile unit, operated by Dr. Julie Bowling and animal technician Crystal Holguin.

SARG is partnering with Claws and Paws 4 a Cause, covering the cost of their services to host free spay/neuter clinics for residents of Anderson and surrounding counties who cannot afford a regular clinic visit. Also included are vaccines that the pet may need.

For 2019, the free clinics will be located at the Anderson Farmers Co-Op, 110 S. Charles Seivers Blvd. in Clinton. If you have multiple animals we will only be able to alter no more than two at a time. This will allow us to help other families in need. Please call for an appointment, as space is limited.

The planned dates for 2019, for both cats and dogs, are as follows:

January 10
February 14
March 14
April 17
May 8
June 6
July 11
August 15
September 12
October 10
November 14
December 12
Two dates in 2019 are designated as "Love Your Kitty Spay Day" and are for cats only:

February 21
March 21
If you or someone you know meets the income requirements and needs this service, please call Claws and Paws 4 a Cause at (865)385-0780 to discuss the income requirements and schedule an appointment.

LOW-INCOME REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for the low-income program, you must earn a total combined income of $30,000 or less per year for a family of 1 or 2, or an income of $40,000 or less for 3 or more people in your household. The combined income is the total income from all residents in the home. Income verification is required.

If you cannot participate in the free spay/neuter clinics, you might still want to consider Claws and Paws 4 a Cause as an excellent low-cost alternative.
